The landscaping at Maggie Daley Park showcases meticulous attention to horticultural detail, particularly evident in the elevated sections atop the parking garage. Soil preparation is subtly inferred through the healthy growth of diverse plantings across these engineered landscapes. Planting expertise is apparent in the selection and arrangement of species that thrive within this unique urban environment.
Maintenance of the park's extensive green spaces appears consistent. Areas dedicated to active recreation, such as the skating ribbon, are kept to high standards. The integration of play structures and climbing walls into the landscape suggests a thoughtful approach to public space design.
A notable issue impacting the visitor experience concerns the placement of temporary diesel generators. These units, located near the skating ribbon, introduce an olfactory and auditory disruption. Their necessity is questioned given existing concessions, and their continued presence raises concerns about air quality and noise pollution within the park.
